'I helped you, and I didn't want to do it': Man charges expecting wife $10 for helping her move an item she sold

Anybody with any common sense realizes that growing a whole person inside of you is hard work. Even those expecting moms who have it comparatively easy get to a point where it is difficult to do everything that they might do otherwise. 

As a result, it is only fair to expect that those engaging in the so-called miracle of bringing life into the world get a little extra support from those closest to them. In particular, the other parent-to-be must take on added responsibilities to ensure the comfort and happiness of everyone involved. It really is the least that can be done when somebody is having your kid.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for potential dads to reveal their lackluster qualifications for parenting before the baby even arrives by treating their partners in ways that they shouldn't. A child can put a strain on even the healthiest relationship dynamic, so it is often disastrous for less balanced ones.

  • Even when there are no extenuating circumstances, it should not be a chore to help the person you are in a relationship with when they need it. All relationships require a level of give and take from both parties that changes according to the period of life you are going through. Inevitably, having a baby will be one of those times when one person needs significantly more attention than the other.

    In this story, a woman struggled with her husband's behavior after he charged her $10 for helping her lift and move an item that she sold while she was 20 weeks pregnant. After she recruited his brother to help her pick up something for the house the day after, she confirmed with him that he had made her pay, as he had not wanted to help her. She felt he was being unreasonable and not living up to his duties as a partner, but she wanted to know if she was right.

What else is he going to say he doesn't feel like doing and charge you for? Changing diapers? Feeding the baby? Even watching them so you can go to appointments?
